Boobies

22 November 2012

This book is seriously amazing.

Today’s give-away: Breastfeeding Made Simple. The woman who taught our natural childbirth class (also seriously amazing, can’t recommend Jen and the Bradley Method enough) gave us a copy of this one, and I’ve read it twice.

The ladies that put this together know their stuff, and their stuff breaks down to Seven Natural Laws of Breastfeeding. They explain each one; they troubleshoot each one. They present research from all over the world on different topics pertaining to each one. It’s remarkably informative.

It’s so informative, actually, I’m a little snobby about boobies now. People love to give pregnant women advice – and they love to tell horror stories and shatter cheerful expectations. More than once I’ve smiled at someone as they told me why breastfeeding is hard, or how much it hurts, or everything that goes wrong – and judged them internally for their ignorance.

Not really. That would be awful. But I do smile, and I am grateful that someone gave me this book because I have answers that a lot of women, unfortunately, don’t, or didn’t, have.

If you’re expecting, nursing, trying to nurse, or know someone who is, this book is seriously required reading. And I’m giving away one copy to one lucky set of boobies.

How can you win it? Leave a comment, by the end of the week, and tell us who the book is for – yourself? A friend? A winner will be drawn at random on Sunday.
