Vote and Win Free Stuff!
I wasn’t feeling super inspired when I (wrote the title of this blog post) put the header together for Spits and Wiggles – stock photo and a new font. I like the baby orangutang, and I think he turned out to be even more appropriate than I could have guessed, but … we can do better.
Thrice
If you haven’t seen the stick people comic strips, you can find them on the Comics page or on Instagram if you search for #SticksInStrips. (Apparently I’m frequently uninspired when titling things …) They’re fun. They’ve kind of become a thing.
(I’m hopefully finishing a fun project this month involving the sticks-in-strips. Shhhh!)
So I thought they’d make for a good header.
I wanted to do it right, though, so the Meatball and I stopped by Target for a brand new set of Sharpie pens (because I’m pretty sure mine got scooped in with Husband’s supplies, and I have no idea where they went). I did three, and now I can’t decide which to start with, sooooo …
Leave a vote in the comments for Header 1, 2 or 3, and when I close voting at the end of the week I’ll also randomly select a comment via digital dice for a $20 Target gift card.
In case you, too, need more Sharpie pens … or whatever you get from Target.
Let’s have a look at the contestants:
Header #1: Poo and Wiggle
This adventure was referenced recently in “The Truth About The Poop,” when I had to call for back-up on a massive dirty diaper … and a wiggly, grabby baby.
.
Header #2: The Mandolin Slicer
That was the time I sliced the side of my finger off trying to make apple chips. It’s all here in “Baked Apples and Blood-Letting.”
.
Header #3: Bath Time
This one is the short version of this comic strip.
So leave a comment here, and vote on which one should be the (first) new header! If you follow Spits & Wiggles on Facebook, you can vote there too if you prefer, but I’ll pick a random gift card winner from the blog comments on Friday evening. (Please note that whatever email address you submit with your comment is the email that the gift card will be sent to if you win.)
I like #3 because it tells the whole story in one frame. The others are good, but you really have to read the post to get the full picture. Although, “The Truth about Poop” had me laughing so hard that I cried … at work.
I thought about if I would need some kind of permanent link to tell the stories in the other ones. Good point.
I like header #1. It depicts alot of what happens the first year of baby’s life. Pooping, and diaper changes. 🙂
And pooping and diaper changes and pooping and diaper changes … 😉
I like the third one – a good giggle, and so typical 🙂 p.s. You are very talented!
🙂 I don’t know if stick people warrant praise for my “talent,” but thanks!
option 3
Im a fan of #1 because that post had me laughing so hard!!! You are an amazing artist!
I enjoy the third one and think it suits Spits and Wiggles (and parenting in general!) LOL We’ve all been there 😉
…Although I like the dark shaded Spits and Wiggles font from the second one.
I can’t wait to hear what you’re gonna do with these comics! They are *awesome*!
I can’t wait to tell! 🙂 My goal for July is to get it all finished up. *fingers crossed*
I vote for #3…but I like them all. 🙂
I vote for heading 3. The comic strip says it all. So funny!!!
I definitely vote 1! It’s freakin hilarious! Maybe even making it say “Staying Still…Apparently the World’s Hardest Task” or “Mommy’s Top Ten Household Items…#1 Duct Tape”
#3
I (Mike) like #3, but if you can ever add odors to these, I’d pick #1
Ewwwww
I hafta pic ONE?!?! they’re all….well, befitting. But since I gotsta pick ‘just’ one I guess it’d be……………………….#1………….life with baby (well kids in general) takes MUCH teamwork 🙂
“Teamwork” seems to be a popular theme. I hadn’t even thought about it. Good thing we’re voting. 🙂
Tough choice between #1 and #3. I like those two because it shows Mom and Dad – the teamwork aspect. I think I choose #3 because it is very succinct. I agree with Bianca about the solid lettering.
I may have to go back and color in the lettering on #1 or #3, huh?
#3 Bath Time
I hear your little guy is getting acclimated to bath time finally. 🙂
They’re all pretty good, but #3 leaps out at me.
And mandolins (kitchen slicers, not the musical instrument) scare the heebie-jeebies out of me.
The mandolin and I got off to a rocky start, but I hafta say, now that we understand each other, it’s one of my favorite things. 🙂 “Whiskers on kittens and mandolin slicers” … that’s how that goes, right?
Oh, and after reviewing the other comments, I agree that the solid ‘Spits and Wiggles’ title line looks better than the outline (IMHO).
#1 funny stuff. Loved that blog. Laughed so hard !! Yes yes it must be 1. That’s all.
I still prefer #1 because it shows husband and wife working together in unity for the baby. In #3, there is a lack of unity as the mother gets angry with the father for not tending to the baby.
#1 will definitely be next.
There was no anger in the scene illustrated in #3 – maybe I should have included a “Haha,” or something. It was just a funny conversation we had. I think the whole comic strip maybe communicates that better than the one frame, but it was just funny. 🙂
